What is a Martingale?
Samuel Nathans, CFA is a Partner, Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and a member of the Management Committee. Sam is responsible for managing client portfolios. He joined Martingale in 1999, following a brief association with Miller Tabak + Co. Previously, Sam was the Portfolio Manager and Director of Research for the AIG Equity Market Neutral Fund, a quantitative long/short hedge fund. In this position, he handled all research, programming, portfolio construction and trading aspects of the AIG fund. Before joining AIG, Sam developed and managed quantitative strategies in the U.S. and overseas equity markets for M.D. Sass Investor Services, Inc. Prior to his tenure at M.D. Sass, Sam was Director of Trading and Developmental Research at Saje Asset Management.
Sam holds a B.S. in public policy studies from Duke University and J.D. from Emory University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
